DUI probation ends in violation

A 56-year-old Bradenton woman admitted to a probation violation for driving under the influence and was sentenced to time served.

Debra Alix, who spent a day in jail after her arrest, pleaded no contest in April 2015 to driving impaired and causing a March car crash in Holmes Beach.

She was sentenced to 12 months probation, including   fines, DUI school, 50-hours of public service work, a six-month driver’s license suspension and the installation of an ignition device for six months.

In May, Alix acknowledged her failure to pay and agreed to pay more than $1,735 in fines and court costs.

Aliz’s vehicle rear-ended an SUV that had stopped for bicyclists in a crosswalk in the 6600 block of Marina Drive, according to police reports and witness affidavits.
