Early voting underway

In-person early voting for the general election began Oct. 24 in Manatee County and continues through Saturday, Nov. 5.

While the Manatee County Supervisor of Elections did not open precincts for early voting on Anna Maria Island, the nearest location is the West Manatee Fire Rescue administration office, 6417 Third Ave. W., Bradenton.

Other early voting locations include the Lakewood Ranch Town Hall, Palmetto Library, Rocky Bluff Library and the Supervisor of Elections Office.

Early voting hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through Oct. 30 and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Oct. 31-Nov. 5.

Mail-in ballots were sent to voters who requested them in early October and must be returned to the supervisor’s office by 7 p.m. Nov. 8.

The general election will be Tuesday, Nov. 8, with polling 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

As of Oct. 20, the supervisor’s office was reporting 229,870 registered voters, including 100,071 Republicans, 71,130 Democrats and 58,669 others.
