An 18-year-old Bradenton motorist was issued a citation for driving under the influence of alcohol after being stopped by the Holmes Beach Police Department.
Thomas Jacob Smith was detained at 10:45 p.m. Sept. 30 and issued a 0.02 violation in the 5400 block of Marina Drive. The legal limit for drivers under age 21 is 0.02.
Smith allegedly told police he drank an alcoholic beverage an hour earlier.
Smith agreed to blood-alcohol testing and failed two tests, measuring 0.065 and 0.062.
He called his brother to pick him up and left his vehicle in the Wells Fargo parking lot.
