Adjudication on home invasion withheld

Two cases against a 25-year-old West Virginia man arrested New Year’s Day in Holmes Beach ended in October with no assessment of guilt.

Adjudication was withheld Oct. 18 by 12th Circuit Judge Mark Singer in the state’s case against Michael B. Willis, who pleaded no contest to trespass, possessing marijuana and criminal mischief charges in connection with an alleged home invasion in the 6300 block of Gulf Drive.

In a separate case, the state attorney’s office dropped a charge of criminal mischief Oct. 1 against Willis for allegedly throwing a chair off the balcony and damaging a neighbor’s chair.

Singer ordered $719.25 in court costs and fines against Willis in connection with the home invasion.
