In the event you are reading the early edition of the Nov. 9 Islander — distributed on Election Day — polls open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8.
The top of the ballot contains the presidential race.
Other races to be decided Nov. 8, after The Islander went to press, include:
• At the federal level, votes will be cast for U.S. Senate and House seats.
• At the state level, votes will be cast on the retention of supreme court justices and appeals court judges and five proposed constitutional amendments dealing with solar power, medical marijuana, property tax exemptions for permanently disabled first-responders and revising homestead tax emptions for some low-income seniors.
• At the county level, voters will elect candidates for at-large district 7 and local district 3 seats on the Manatee County Board of Commissioners and also decide whether to enact a 15-year half-cent sales surtax for public infrastructure.
• At the school district level, voters will elect school board members to represent District 1 and District 3 and decide whether to extend the existing half cent sales tax for capital outlay of educational facilities through 2032.
• In Anna Maria, voters will elect two commissioners to serve two-year terms. The candidates include Brian Seymour and incumbents Nancy Yetter and Chuck Webb.
• In Bradenton Beach, voters will elect a commissioner in Ward 4 — either William “Bill” Vincent or John Chappie — and decide whether to enact a residential building moratorium ordinance that provides a six-month moratorium on “building permit applications for all residential units in the R1 and R2 zoning districts” that would contain four sleeping rooms and duplexes containing two sleeping areas per side.
• Longboat Key voters will cast ballots on two referendums, one dealing with density at Whitney Plaza and another dealing with density at 4134 Gulf of Mexico Drive.
Anna Maria’s polling place, precinct 301, is Roser Memorial Community Church, 512 Pine Ave.
Bradenton Beach residents in precinct 307 vote at the volunteer fire station, 201 Second St. N.
Holmes Beach voters cast ballots either at precinct 303, polling place, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 6608 Marina Drive, or the precinct 305 polling place, St. Bernard Catholic Church, 248 S. Harbor Drive. The polling location is indicated on the voter ID card.
