Christopher Ulmer, 35, was sentenced Dec. 9 to an 18-month probation after pleading no contest to possessing synthetic cannabis.
Twelfth Circuit Judge Susan Maulucci found Ulmer guilty of a third-degree felony and ordered him into a drug evaluation and treatment program.
Ulmer is listed in court records alternately as homeless and with a Bradenton address.
He was arrested on a warrant in February after a Manatee County sheriff’s deputy reported him smoking a marijuana-like substance several months earlier under the east end of the Cortez Bridge in Bradenton Beach.
Bradenton Beach police assisted the MCSO and confiscated 21 grams of the drug.
The warrant was issued after lab results confirmed the drug was XLR1, a schedule-one narcotic, sold as Spice and K-2, reported to cause increased heart rate and hallucinations.
Maulucci’s sentence included a one-year driver’s license suspension, with a work exception. Ulmer also was fined $768.
