Bradenton man arrested for projector theft

A 20-year-old Bradenton man already in jail in connection with a Longboat Key theft was arrested for the Jan. 28 theft of an outdoor projector in Anna Maria.

Richard Parker was served with a warrant Feb. 14 for stealing a projector near the driveway of a residence in the 100 block of Willow. The outside projector was valued at $80.

A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy requested the state issue a warrant and it was served on Parker in the Manatee County jail, where he was being held on the Longboat Key charge, according to MCSO Sgt. Russ Schnering.

Schnering credited the property owner’s video surveillance system for providing evidence and Longboat Key Police Detective Sgt. Robert Bourque with assisting in the investigation.

“It’s nice to close a case,” Schnering said.

Parker posted a $120 bond and was released, he said.
