Bringing tourists to Florida beaches is a top priority with the red tide crisis.
Visit Florida, the state’s tourism corporation, recently announced the Red Tide Recovery Marketing Program available to businesses.
The program, offered in all counties declared disaster areas by Gov. Rick Scott, involves a six-month Visit Florida marketing partnership that includes an enhanced listing on visitflorida.com, the ability to submit content for the site’s social media accounts and website, as well as partner-to-partner specials.
The program also provides an opportunity to have a presence in state welcome centers with brochures and lobby displays.
Opportunities are available through Feb. 28, 2019.
Enrollment applications are posted online at visitflorida.org.
Visit Florida also created a $500,000 emergency grant program to assist tourist development boards, including Manatee County’s council. The grants will be used to increase tourism when the red tide subsides.
