Jan. 24, 6900 block of Gulf Drive, grand theft. An officer responded to a call that $1,500-$2,000 worth of scrap aluminum railing was stolen from a construction site. Photos of the scrap metal were placed in the case file.

Jan. 25, 200 block of Peacock Lane, traffic stop. An officer received a license plate reader alert. Upon stopping the female driver, the officer determined she was driving without a license or insurance and issued a notice to appear in court. The tag was seized and the vehicle was towed.

Jan. 25, 600 block of Manatee Avenue, traffic stop. An officer observed a driver make a left turn without stopping at a flashing red light. The officer pulled over the male driver and determined he was driving with a suspended license. The driver was ticketed.

Jan. 26, 600 block of Crestwood Lane, noise. An officer was dispatched to a complaint of loud music and singing. The homeowners had been warned earlier that night by another officer. A decibel reading was taken, which showed volume exceeded levels allowed by the city and a citation was issued.

Jan. 26, 4300 block of Gulf Drive, traffic stop. The officer on patrol was alerted by the license plate reader system. The officer stopped the female driver and found she was driving with a suspended license. The driver was issued a citation.

Jan. 26, 2800 block of Gulf Drive, traffic stop. An officer observed a female driver traveling 45 mph on a street with a 35-mph limit. The driver was apprehended earlier that day by another HBPD officer and cited for driving with a suspended license. She was issued another citation and the vehicle was towed.

Jan. 27, 100 block of 49th Street, camping. While performing a building check on a construction site, an officer discovered a male and female asleep on the floor of the house. Both were arrested and transported to the HBPD for paperwork, then taken to Manatee County jail.

Jan. 28, 5400 block of Gulf Drive, Baker Act. An officer was dispatched to a residence for a wellness check on a female by a concerned relative. The woman met Baker Act criteria and she was transported to a health care facility.

Jan. 29, 4000 block of Gulf Drive, Manatee Public Beach, camping. A fire in the vegetation near the public beach was reported to the HBPD. Officers found a man lying near the fire who was argumentative and presented a suspended driver’s license. He was issued a trespass warning, arrested and taken to the Manatee County jail.

Jan. 29, 500 block of Manatee Avenue, traffic. An officer on patrol received a hit from the city’s license plate reader system. After pulling over the male driver, the officer determined he was driving without a suspended license. The driver was given a notice to appear in court March 3 and released.

Jan. 29, 5300 block of Marina Drive, traffic. The LPR system alerted the officer on patrol to a tag connected to a suspended license. The officer stopped the female driver, whose license matched the plate hit. She was issued a citation.

Jan. 29, 4000 block of Gulf Drive, marijuana. An officer observed a vehicle with a defective license plate pulling into the public beach parking lot. When the officer asked the female driver for license and proof of registration, he smelled marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The male passenger said the marijuana was his and provided the officer with a bag containing 3.4 grams of cannabis. The passenger was issued a city ordinance violation for possessing less than 20 grams of marijuana.
