Nov. 6, 200 block of Willow Avenue, noise. The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint about “renters being loud.” A deputy responded and issued a citation for an ordinance violation.

Nov. 11, 800 block of North Shore Drive, downed cable. The MCSO assisted in response to a report of a downed wire — a cable wire — during Eta.

Nov. 11, 400 block of North Shore Drive, sparking wires. The MCSO assisted in response to a report of “sparking wires” during Eta.

Nov. 11, 700 block of Jacaranda Road, fraud. The MCSO took a complaint that a vacation rental was falsely advertised on Craigslist.

Bradenton Beach

Nov. 6, Sports Lounge, 119 Bridge St., disorderly conduct. A Bradenton Beach police officer was dispatched in response to a bar fight. The bar manager told the officer a man had been harassing a wedding party and started the fight. The officer trespassed the man and transported him to the Manatee County jail on a misdemeanor charge for disorderly conduct.

Holmes Beach

Nov. 2, 100 block of 38th Street, hit-and-run. The Holmes Beach Police Department was contacted by someone whose parked car was hit by another vehicle and the motorist left the scene. The HBPD located the suspect vehicle and an investigation was pending.

Nov. 3, 5800 block of Gulf Drive, theft. A person reported a locked and covered bike stolen from a condominium bike rack.

Nov. 4, 3900 block of Sixth Avenue, marijuana. An officer observed a driver run a flashing red light. Upon stopping the motorist, the officer smelled burning marijuana. The driver provided the officer with a burnt marijuana cigar and a bag of substance. The officer cited the driver for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and running a red light.

Nov. 4, 200 block of 79th Street, noise. An officer was dispatched to a rental for a noise complaint. The officer took a decibel reading from a neighboring property line, which registered excessive noise. The tenant at the house where the noise originated was cited.

Nov. 7, 600 block of Manatee Avenue West, marijuana. An officer observed a motorist fail to stop at a flashing red light. Upon stopping the driver, the officer saw a burnt marijuana cigarette on the console and marijuana crumbs in the juvenile passenger’s lap. The driver handed over an additional gram of marijuana and was cited for less than 20 grams. The juvenile’s mother was called and both were released.

Nov. 8, 5800 block of Marina Drive, marijuana, traffic. An HBPD officer spotted a vehicle with dark tinted windows and stopped the vehicle. The officer smelled marijuana and asked the driver if he had drugs in the car. The passenger provided a bag with 3.6 grams of substance, saying it belonged to the driver. The officer also determined the motorist had a suspended license. The motorist was issued a notice to appear for a suspended license and was cited for less than 20 grams of marijuana. The vehicle was parked for later removal.

Nov. 8, 600 block of Manatee Avenue West, warrant. An officer saw a man rifling in a backpack behind a store. Upon making contact with the person, the officer determined there was a warrant for his arrest and transported the individual to the Manatee County jail.
