Anne B. Stapor Francis

Anne B. Stapor Francis, 96, died Jan. 6.

She lived on Anna Maria Island from 1947 until February 2019, when she moved to a retirement home in Fort Myers to be closer to family.

She will be interred at Massachusetts National Cemetery next to her husband of 50 years, John J. Francis Jr.,  who died in 1997.

She is survived by two sons, a daughter, seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

 

Mary Jane ‘Janie’ Messina

Mary Jane “Janie” Messina, 85, longtime resident of Bradenton Beach, died Jan. 2.

She and her husband Nick married in 1954. They resided in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and New Castle, Pennsylvania, for 16 years and raised their three children, Mark, Michele and Christine.

They moved to Bradenton Beach in 1970, where they resided for 50 years.

She was a believer in Jesus Christ and lived her life accordingly.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and was happiest when surrounded by her husband, her family and friends.

She is survived by Mark and wife Susan of Bradenton, Michele Steger of Myakka City and Christine Ponto and husband Rick of Bradenton, and (daughter of her heart) Eleanor Arpaia-Gibbs of Fishers, Indiana; grandchildren Garrett Steger, Shauna Steger, Kyle, Jordan McDaniel and husband Chad; great-grandchildren Bryce Steger, Kaylie Hoffman and Landen Hoffman.
