Bradenton man arrested by HBPD for DUI, drugs

A Bradenton man was arrested Jan. 24 for driving under the influence of alcohol and drug possession in Holmes Beach.

Ricky Bautista, 26, was arrested at 1:26 a.m. in the 5300 block of Gulf Drive by Holmes Beach police officers.

According to the HBPD report, an officer observed Bautista driving with no lights and swerving off the road.

Bautista failed the field test and blew 0.164 and 0.155 on two Breathalyzer tests. The legal alcohol limit is 0.08.

Upon searching Bautista, the officer found a bag with 7.2 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia.

Bautista was arrested for DUI and cited for possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and traffic violations.

After he was transported to the Manatee County jail, a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office intake deputy determined Bautista had a small bag of cocaine in his pocket.

Bautista was charged with driving under the influence, a second-degree felony, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia, both first-degree felonies, possession of a controlled substance, a third-degree felony and introduction of contraband into a detention facility, also a third-degree felony.

He was released that day on a $4,120 bond.

Bautista’s arraignment was set for Feb. 19.
