A Holmes Beach Police Department officer March 3 arrested Bradenton resident Jessica Christie, 34, for a second-degree misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.
The officer spotted a vehicle entering the Manatee Public Beach parking lot around midnight — two hours after closing time. The officer followed, eventually stopping Christie for an illegal turn.
The officer smelled alcohol and had Christie complete field sobriety tests, which she failed.
The officer transported Christie to the HBPD, where she registered 0.18 and 0.177 grams of ethanol per deciliter of blood in two blood/alcohol level tests.
The legal blood/alcohol content limit for driving under the influence is 0.08 in Florida.
The officer later transported Christie to the Manatee County jail, where she was released March 3 after posting a $120 bail bond.
An arraignment will be at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
The second-degree misdemeanor charge carries varying punishments, including fines and up to nine months in prison for a first conviction.
