Line workers get eagle eye view

Texas-based Crown Castle employees worked the morning of Sept. 8 at the top of the cell tower in Holmes Beach on mechanics and, according to a local official, they had a federal permit to remove the eagle’s nest at the top. Sometime around 1 p.m., a huge clap of thunder was heard and a quick check of the tower revealed the workers descending in heavy rain. The nest was not visible Sept. 12 and appears to have been removed. Islander Photo: Jacob Merrifield
