Motorists traveling May 31 on Gulf Drive South near 11th Street South in Bradenton Beach are routed through a parking lot at Cortez Beach as a crew from Woodruff & Sons cuts trenches across Gulf Drive for a Manatee County sewer relocation project. The project involves digging trenches along Gulf Drive and the replacement of gravity sewer lines from Sixth Street South to 13th Street South. The project is entering a phase in which workers prepare trenches to carry the sewer lines to residences. The project is scheduled to be completed in July 2024. Islander Photo: Robert Anderson
