The project, proposed by developer Shawn Kaleta, is due for a first public hearing at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, before the planning and zoning board. The P& Z will consider amending zoning related to the project and establish a planned development within the commercial district. The project involves properties owned or leased by Kaleta and Najmy Thompson PL. and other properties owned by Commissioner Jake Spooner. The proposal comprises 1.61 acres and includes a 106-unit motel, 60-seat restaurant and shops. Islander Photo: Robert Anderson
