Viewing the eclipse

An annular solar eclipse is taking place Saturday, Oct. 14. The annular solar eclipse happens when the moon passes between the sun and Earth while it is at its farthest point from Earth. The path of the annular eclipse in the United States is from the coast of Oregon to the Texas Gulf Coast but a majority of the United States will be able to view a portion of the “ring of fire” eclipse. Locally, people will see a partial eclipse, beginning at about 11:50 a.m.
