Demolishing to develop

An aerial photo of the Bradenton Beach commercial district Jan. 11 shows the scope of demolition for the Bridge Street Resort, with the Island Time Inn — the light blue building — and a residence on Third Street, both part of the development plan, still standing. The development, proposed by developer Shawn Kaleta and then-Commissioner Jake Spooner, was approved Dec. 7, 2023, by Bradenton Beach.
