Shellfish ways at center

Kids in the after-school program at the Center of Anna Maria Island show off vertical oyster-projects created March 20 during a presentation by the Palmetto-based Gulf Shellfish Institute. Vertical oyster gardens consist of recycled oyster shells strung together on a rope or wire and suspended from a dock or seawall into the water to help create a habitat.
