Looking south, looking cold

An aerial photo from the north end by the Sandbar Restaurant looking south Jan. 6 shows another cold front moving in. Even for winter on Anna Maria Island, weather watchers agree, we seldom see so many days — and nights — of cold temperatures in a row. Some nights have been below 50 degrees and with a wind chill that dips to 46 degrees. The Gulf of Mexico water temperatures are hovering near 62 degrees and the bay waters are colder at 55-58.
