Bradenton woman arrested for DUI in Holmes Beach

Linda Kemp, 72, of Bradenton, was arrested Oct. 24 in Holmes Beach on a second-degree misdemeanor for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

A Holmes Beach police officer observed Kemp around 8 p.m. driving from Sunrise Lane onto a section of Gulf Drive that was closed due to a crash and an officer stopped Kemp.

The officer noticed signs of impairment from Kemp and called MCSO to conduct an investigation.

Kemp failed field sobriety exercises and registered breath samples with results of 0.148 and 0.149 grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath. The legal blood alcohol level limit is 0.08.

Kemp was arrested and taken to the county jail. She was released Oct. 25 without posting bond.

If convicted, punishment includes up to 60 days in jail, six months probation and a fine of up to $500.

Arraignment will be Dec. 2 at the Manatee County Judicial Center in Bradenton.
