They say “Shopping is a pleasure at Publix,” and one Anna Maria Island shopper is proof.
Robin Glover of Red Bay, Alabama, purchased a $6.25 million winning Florida Lotto ticket from the Publix Super Market at 3900 E. Bay Drive, Holmes Beach, according to a report on floridalottery.com.
The quick-pick ticket had the numbers 5, 9, 22, 30, 32 and 50, which matched the jackpot-winning numbers announced Oct. 25.
Glover claimed the single-payment cash option for the jackpot, resulting in a $3,529,535.42 prize after taxes, on Oct. 30 at the Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee.
Florida Lotto tickets cost $2 and the game has a $1 million minimum jackpot that resets after every jackpot win.
Every dollar spent on Florida Lottery tickets contributes 25 cents to Florida’s Educational Enhancement Trust Fund, which funds the state’s Bridge Futures Scholarship Program.
Drawings for the Florida Lotto game are held at 11:15 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
