Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 27.
Most government offices will be closed that day and Friday, Nov. 28, including city halls in Anna Maria, Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach.
The fare-free island trolley and the Beach Express will operate Nov. 27, but Manatee County Area Transit will not operate other fixed-route services or the Handy Bus service on the holiday. Friday will be business as usual for MCAT.
Any residential trash or recycling pickups regularly scheduled for Thursdays will be pushed back.
Preserves and beaches will be open, but libraries and schools will close for the holiday.
