Katherine ‘Kit’ Redeker

Katherine “Kit” Redeker, 96, of Holmes Beach and Michigan died Feb. 7.

She was born Jan. 14, 1930, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to the late John and Grace Klosterman, to a large family of eight brothers and one sister.

She graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School in 1948. She married the love of her life, Dale Russell Redeker Sr., on May 22, 1951. They had a yearlong honeymoon in Panama while Mr. Redeker served in the U.S. Army.

Over the years, on a sunny day, you might have seen Kit riding her three-wheel bike around Anna Maria Island as she visited businesses to collect bingo prizes for Annie Silver Community Center. She was known for her kindness and great sense of humor and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, at CrossPointe Fellowship in Holmes Beach. A memorial service also will be held in June at Hope Reformed Church in Kalamazoo.

She is survived by her children, Susan, David and Timothy and wife Laura; and granddaughters Sedona and husband Allen Crow and Abrye.
