Island police reports

Streetlife is based on incident reports from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, Bradenton Beach Police Department and Holmes Beach Police Department.

Bradenton Beach

Feb. 22, Coquina South Boat Ramp, 2650 Gulf Drive S., vandalism. Manatee County parks employees reported to the BBPD that 17 concrete parking stops were broken into small pieces. Damage was estimated at $2,500.

Cortez

Holmes Beach

Feb. 20, 700 block of Manatee Avenue, arrest warrant. An HBPD officer located a motorist pinged by the city’s license plate recognition system and conducted a traffic stop. The officer spoke to the driver, who had an active warrant out of Miami-Dade County. The officer issued a court summons to the driver and a citation for marijuana found in his vehicle.

Feb. 21, Time Saver Liquor Store, 5353 Gulf Drive, domestic battery. HBPD officers responded to reports of a physical disturbance involving a man and woman and arrived to find the woman on the ground. She said she confronted her boyfriend about alleged infidelity, and he grabbed her wrist and struck her with a closed fist. She wanted to press charges. Officers located the boyfriend at the couple’s residence, arrested him and transported him to the Manatee County jail.
