Alvin’s employee arrested for alleged theft

Holmes Beach police arrested Bradenton resident Chris Hernandez-Licona, 20, April 9 on a third-degree felony charge of grand theft.

Two officers responded to reports of employee theft at Alvin’s Island Store, 3602 E. Bay Drive, where a manager alleged an employee stole $1,083.98 from the cash register over several days.

Store security video shows Hernandez-Licona pocketing money from the register, according to a police report.

Hernandez-Licona was arrested and transported to the Manatee County jail, where he was released the same day after posting $2,500 bond.

If convicted, punishment for a third-degree felony charge includes up to five years in prison.

An arraignment will be May 22 at the county judicial center in Bradenton.
