Island police reports

Bradenton Beach

April 12, 2600 block of Gulf Drive South, disturbance. MCSO deputies responded to a disturbance at Coquina Beach in which a person in a vehicle attempted to strike another person and made verbal threats. Deputies arrived and separated the parties. No injuries were reported. There were no arrests.

April 12, 1900 block of Gulf Drive North, larceny. An MCSO deputy responded to a report that two personal watercraft were taken from a condominium complex. The PWCs were found adrift in the Gulf of Mexico by the U.S. Coast Guard.

Cortez

April 8, 4600 block of 124th Street West, threats. MCSO deputies responded to a report of a man making threats involving a rifle. Deputies investigated. No injuries were reported.

April 12, 4200 block of 129th Street West, larceny. An MCSO deputy responded to a report of a stolen iPad. The complainant said an acquaintance entered a residence and removed the device.

Holmes Beach

April 19, 700 block of Manatee Avenue, marijuana/paraphernalia. An HBPD officer conducting a traffic stop smelled marijuana from inside the vehicle. Neither the driver nor the passenger had a medical marijuana license. The passenger admitted to possessing marijuana and handed over packages containing 19 grams of marijuana. The officer issued a court summons to the passenger and placed the marijuana in storage.
