Island police reports

Streetlife is based on incident reports from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office and the Bradenton Beach and Holmes Beach police departments.

Anna Maria

June 8, 700 block of Jacaranda Road, disturbance. One person struck another and a third person intervened. The MCSO responded. No arrests were made.

Bradenton Beach

      June 12, Gulf Drive Cafe, 900 Gulf Drive N., disturbance. Two men argued outside the restaurant. One appeared to be intoxicated, and the dispute reportedly began over a watermelon. BBPD responded and cleared the scene.

Cortez

      No new reports.

Holmes Beach

June 11, 700 block of Manatee Avenue, failure to obey. An officer initiated a traffic stop of a motorcyclist driving without a license plate. The motorcyclist did not pull over immediately but was stopped with the help of another patrol. The cyclist was brought to the ground, arrested, and issued two traffic citations.

June 13, 8100 block of Gulf Drive, warrant, resisting law enforcement without violence. An officer responded to a missing person’s report involving an intoxicated woman who was under an arrest warrant out of Texas. The woman was found. While in a patrol car, she began hitting her head against the vehicle. She also resisted verbal commands. Emergency medical services transported her to the HCA Florida Blake Hospital in Bradenton. She was then taken to jail.

June 15, Manatee Public Beach, 4000 Gulf Drive, trespass. An officer responded to reports of a suspicious man recording girls on the beach. A county beach patrol employee pointed out the man, who was asked to leave. When he refused to leave, he was trespassed.
