Holmes Beach police arrested Ellenton residents Jessica Gueltzow, 42, and Michael Singer, 36, on July 6 on multiple criminal charges.
Gueltzow faces two third-degree felonies: possession of amphetamine and tampering with evidence.
Singer faces a third-degree felony for alleged possession of MDMA and methamphetamine, a third-degree felony for alleged tampering with physical evidence and a first-degree misdemeanor for alleged possession of drug paraphernalia. Singer also faces two second-degree misdemeanors for alleged driving with a suspended license and attaching an unassigned license plate.
The arrests followed a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Gulf Drive, where an officer saw items thrown from the passenger window and called for backup.
The discarded items included a metal container with a crystal-like substance and a rubber container with purple powder, according to police. A bag in the vehicle held a pocket mirror and white powder testing positive for amphetamine.
Gueltzow and Singer were taken to the Manatee County jail, where they remained in custody as of July 8. Gueltzow’s bond is $2,500; Singer’s is $10,000.
Third-degree felonies carry up to five years in jail; a first-degree misdemeanor, up to a year; a second-degree misdemeanor, up to 60 days.
Arraignment is Aug. 21 at the Manatee County Judicial Center in Bradenton.
