Robert ‘Bob’ Walter Twiss
Robert “Bob” Walter Twiss, 79, of Anna Maria, died July 8.
He was born to Robert W. and Janet Swenson Twiss in Meriden, Connecticut.
He grew up playing sports and spending time with his sister and his many cousins at the family cabin, County Brook Lodge, in Rowe, Massachusetts, during summer breaks.
He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal with the Bronze Star.
His lifelong love of America was evident to all.
He was known for his quick wit, great jokes and outgoing personality. He made lifelong friends everywhere he lived, from playing sports in high school to his Houston pals and so many softball and golf buddies on Anna Maria Island.
He was loved and will be greatly missed by all.
The family suggests honoring Mr. Twiss by showing your love for our country and flying an American flag from your home.
Mr. Twiss is survived by his wife Brenda Gale; daughters Michelle Twiss Raborn and husband Ronny, Kelly Twiss Coakley and husband Eddie, Jennifer Twiss Lopez and husband Mark; stepdaughter Jennifer Kring Kuhl and husband Jimmy; grandchildren Zachary and Kayden Raborn, Emma Grace Coakley and Brenda Cart; nephews Jon and wife Lynn, Mark and Rachel Rochette, and Ernie and Greg Morris; many cousins; and his dogs Rainbow, Charlie and Gizmo.
