Holmes Beach police arrested Sarasota resident Kenisha Johnson, 29, July 8 on a third-degree felony charge for driving with a suspended license as a habitual offender.
The city’s license plate recognition system pinged Johnson’s vehicle and led to a traffic stop.
According to a report, Johnson “appeared unaware” that her license was suspended. However, the officer found that she was previously charged for driving with a suspended license and had failed to pay citations.
She was arrested and transported to the Manatee County jail, where she was released the next day after posting $2,500 bond.
If convicted, punishment for a third-degree felony charge includes up to five years in prison.
An arraignment will be Aug. 21 at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
