56th Street and Marina Drive, Holmes Beach: Construction tied to stormwater improvements requires a closure at the intersection and detours until the end of the month. Construction will be 7 a.m.-7 p.m. weekdays. Info: www.holmesbeachfl.org, 941-708-5800.
Cortez Bridge and Cortez Road, Cortez: Street closures are in effect at Central Avenue, 125th Court West, 124th Street Court West and 124th Street West, with traffic barriers extending just before 123rd Street Court West. S.R. 684/Cortez Road from 75th Street West to 86th Street West: There will be east/westbound inside and outside lane closures on S.R. 684/Cortez Road from 75th Street West to 86th Street West from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the end of September. The contractor will be constructing right turn lanes, median left turns, two intersection improvements, side-street improvements, signing, pavement markings and drainage improvements.
75th Street West at Manatee Avenue West, Bradenton: Construction is ongoing along 75th Street West near Manatee Avenue West as crews continue with Manatee County roadway improvements. Activities include relocating utility lines along the north side of the corridor and installing drainage systems. Construction is Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Info: mymanatee.org/75th.

Crews will begin installation of pedestrian/bicycle detection systems, conduits and electrical components and connections to the bridgetender buildings at the following bridges:
S.R. 684 Cortez Bridge on Cortez Road at Intra-coastal Waterway.
S.R. 64 Anna Maria Island Bridge on Manatee Avenue connecting Holmes Beach and Perico Island.
S.R. 789 Longboat Pass Bridge on Gulf Drive connecting Bradenton Beach to Longboat Key.
- Testing began in early February 2026.
- Motorists are advised there will be intermittent sidewalk and lane closures throughout construction.
- Motorists should expect lane closures during the nighttime/overnight hours from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Motorists are advised to use caution in the construction zone.
Variable message signs will be in place to alert drivers that work is underway. Estimated completion of testing is in late 2026, weather permitting.
Trolley around AMI
Manatee County Area Transit’s island trolley operates most days 6 a.m.-10:45 p.m. between Coquina Beach in Bradenton Beach and the Anna Maria City Pier in Anna Maria. Riders will find buses to the mainland at the Coquina and Manatee Public beach hubs. There is no fare on MCAT. For more, go to mymanatee.org/mcat.
