Boil water notice rescinded
The Manatee County Utilities Department on March 5 rescinded a precautionary boil water notice to Anna Maria residents living from Willow Avenue north to Bean Point to boil any drinking or cooking water. A MCUD press release said bacteria samples collected from locations in the area on March 4 were free of contamination, indicating the water is safe to drink. The precautionary notice was issued prior to the water shut off on March 4 to replace a fire hydrant and an inline valve.
