Boil water in Anna Maria March 4

Anna Maria residents living from Willow Avenue north to Bean Point will have their water shut off between 12:01 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4.

The Manatee County Utilities Department said in a notice that all residents in the affected area should boil for at least one minute any drinking or cooking water after service is restored.

The precautionary notice from the Manatee County Utilities Water Distribution Section, said the shutoff is required to replace a fire hydrant and an inline valve.

The notice said that the precaution would remain in effect until a bacteriological survey has shown the water to be safe — “normally 24-48 hours” — when another notice will be issued.
