Story Tools • • More road work on north Longboat Key Gulf of Mexico Drive on the north end of Longboat Key will be seeing road improvements that could stall traffic through mid-September. According the Florida Department of Transportation, S.R. 789 from Broadway Street to the Longboat Pass Bridge will see sidewalk and turn-lane improvements. “An intermittent one-lane two-way traffic operation with flagmen will be conducted weekdays between 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.,” according to the DOT. “Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and expect delays with slow moving traffic.
