The storm formed off the coast of Africa on July 3. Arthur formed on May 31 and drenched the Yucatan. Remaining names for the season: Edouard, Fay, Gustav, Hanna, Ike, Josephine, Kyle, Laura, Marco, Nana, Omar, Paloma, Rene, Sally, Teddy, Vicky,Wilfred. In May, the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration said there was a 90 percent chance the 2008 hurricane season would be near or above normal in terms of number and intensity of storms.
