Manatee Magic Tryouts
Do you have the commitment, drive and determination to compete with the best soccer players in the state of Florida? Then it’s time to try out for the 2015-16 Manatee Magic competitive league.
Manatee Magic’s U14 boys, U15 girls, U13 girls and U13 boys all advanced to the semi-finals of this year’s Florida Youth Soccer Assn. Region C Tournament, where the U13 boy’s finished second overall. The “magic” U11 girls, U12 boys and U13 boys teams won their respective age divisions.
All Manatee Magic coaches are licensed and the club provides nationally licensed trainers to further the development of players and their teams. Manatee Magic is where tomorrow’s soccer stars are born.
Player tryouts — boys and girls teams — will be held at G.T. Bray Park, 5502 33rd Ave. Drive W., Bradenton, as follows:
6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, U-11, U12.
6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, U13, U14.
6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 28, U15, U18.
Saturday, May 30: 9-11 a.m. U11, U12;
11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. U13, U14;
2-4 p.m. U15, U18.

Horseshoe news
No teams managed a 3-0 record in pool play during April 30 horseshoe action at the Anna Maria City Hall horseshoe pits.
Four teams compiled 2-1 records and were left to battle it out for the day’s bragging rights. In the first semifinal match, Adin Shank and Neil Hennessey obliterated Jay Disbrow and Dave Hennessey 21-2. The other semifinal match saw Karl Thomas and Hank Huyghe edge Dom Livedoti 22-18.
Thomas and Huyghe then dispatched Shank and Neil Hennessey 22-12 in the finals.
Two teams advanced from pool play with 3-0 records during May 2 action. Sam Samuels and Rod Bussey rolled to an easy 21-8 victory over Dave Hennessey and Steve Doyle to earn bragging rights for the day.
Play gets underway at 9 a.m. every Wednesday and Saturday at the Anna Maria City Hall pits. Warmups begin at 8:45 a.m.
