HBPD arrests Tampa man with marijuana

Stopped for driving 45 mph in a 25-mph zone at 1:39 a.m., a 22-year-old Tampa man was arrested for allegedly possessing marijuana with intent to sell.

John Archer was arrested July 23 with 0.5 grams of hashish and 23.3 grams of marijuana after Holmes Beach Officer Alan Bores stopped his vehicle.

Bores found the drugs in a camouflage bag in the back seat during a vehicle search after observing a marijuana cigar in a cup holder in the vehicle, the police report stated.

Police report finding the drugs in the bag with paraphernalia, including a digital scale, calculator, plastic bags and a marijuana grinder.

Archer was transported and booked at the Manatee County jail. He was released on a $3,500 bond.

His arraignment is set for 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at the Manatee County Judicial Center, 1051 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton.
