Island police blotter – 11-02-2016

Anna Maria

Oct. 16, 500 block of Pine Ave., found property. A humidifier was left behind after the BayFest event. It was secured by the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

Oct. 18, 600 block of Gladiolus Street, theft/burglary. Two kayaks and a necklace were reported stolen Oct. 12. In a supplemental report, MCSO recovered the necklace and two males were arrested Oct. 26 in connection with the incident.

Bradenton Beach

Oct. 10, Sports Lounge, 118 Bridge St., battery. As a 34-year-old man walked out of the bar, he was struck in the back of his head and in the jaw. When Bradenton Beach police arrived, they observed his mouth bleeding. The man refused medical treatment and could not identify a suspect. He went from Bridge Street to a boat in the anchorage. A week later, he advised an officer it may have been three men who accosted him. He also went to the station to make a report but decided not to press charges.

Oct. 23, Island Time, 111 Gulf Drive S., disorderly conduct. A 27-year-old intoxicated man yelled at customers and at the bartender who refused to serve him. An officer handcuffed him when he tried to touch his gun belt and then pepper-sprayed him after the man refused to stop hitting his head on the officer’s patrol vehicle. The man was arrested and transported to Manatee County jail.

Oct. 24, Bridge Street Bazaar, 117 Bridge St., alcohol violation. A 39-year-old man was found drinking beer on a public bench and was issued an ordinance violation.
