Woman sentenced to DUI probation

A 23-year-old Bradenton woman pleaded no contest to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and was sentenced to a 12-month probation.

Twelfth Circuit Judge Mark Singer sentenced Margaret Stockford Oct. 18 to probation, crediting time she served in jail after her November 2015 arrest.

Stockford is required to complete a DUI course, a victim-impact panel and 50 hours of public service.

The judge also suspended her driver’s license for six months and ordered her vehicle impounded for 10 days.

Stockford was arrested in the 6800 block of Palm Drive and, according to a Holmes Beach police report, told police she was taking medication for opiate dependence.

The court also assessed Stockford $1,891 in court costs and fines.
