Dec. 2, Rod & Reel Pier, battery. A man and woman were fishing at the pier with their children when the man, who had been drinking alcohol, became upset, swore at the woman and pushed and struck her in the chest. A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy arrested the man in Holmes Beach.
Dec. 2, Ginny’s & Jane E’s at the Old IGA, 9807 Gulf Drive, counterfeit. A clerk identified a fake $20 in a transaction. The bill passer claimed not to know it was counterfeit. The bill was seized by the MCSO.
Dec. 6, 100 block of Seagrape Lane, information. A landscaper was cutting a tree when a large branch fell and damaged a park bench. The landscaper replaced the bench.

Bradenton Beach
Dec. 6, Sports Lounge, 118 Bridge St., suspicious circumstances. A man who lost his wallet returned to the bar where he last had the wallet, but had no recollection of what happened. A bartender found credit cards, IDs and other items belonging to the man in a trash can. The bartender said surveillance cameras on the property would be checked for suspicious activity.
Dec. 7, Dream Inn, 2502 Gulf Drive N., Baker Act. Bradenton Beach police responded to a call for emergency medical services and a woman told an officer she wanted to harm herself.
Dec. 11, Sports Lounge, 118 Bridge St., trespass after warning. A 45-year-old man previously warned not to return to the bar was found on the property with an alcoholic beverage. Told by a police officer he was being arrested, the man started walking backwards, drinking and pulling away from the officer. The officer redirected the man to the ground, handcuffed and took him into custody. He was transported to the Manatee County jail.

Cortez
Nov. 30, Seafood Shack, 4100 127th St. W., abandoned boat. In June, during Tropical Storm Colin, a vessel drifted and sank near a dock at the marina. The owner told the dock master he would raise his vessel, but has not returned. A citation for illegal dumping was issued.
Cortez is policed by the MCSO.
Holmes Beach
Dec. 6-7, Anchor Inn, 3007 Gulf Drive, battery. A man reported another man struck him while he was shooting pool. The aggressor allegedly struck the man with his chest after he approached from behind, saying, “It’s on now.” A Holmes Beach police officer requested an arrest warrant for the aggressor.
