Holmes Beach man sentenced to DUI probation

A Holmes Beach man was sentenced to 12 months probation for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Robert Docherty, 62, pleaded no contest Dec. 5 and was found guilty by 12th Circuit Judge Charles Sniffin.

Holmes Beach police arrested Docherty in June for driving impaired on East Bay Drive.

As part of the sentence, the judge ordered Docherty to complete a victim-impact panel and DUI program, which includes evaluation and treatment, if necessary. His driver’s license was suspended for six months.

The judge also ordered an alcohol-detection ignition device installed on his vehicle.

Docherty was assigned 75 hours of public service and assessed $1,791 in court costs and fines.
