Pier rebuild slows over new year’s

Embedded pilings stretch Jan. 1 from the T-end of the Anna Maria City Pier almost to shore. Mayor Mark Short wrote in a Jan. 2 text message to The Islander that Tampa Bay Marine completed “minimal work” on the walkway rebuild over the week of Dec. 29 due to windy weather and the New Year’s holiday.
