Judge Melissa Gould of the 12th Circuit Court ruled Jan. 28 to adjudicate Bradenton resident Cody Manning, 33, guilty of four misdemeanor charges, including a second-degree misdemeanor for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The other charges include first-degree misdemeanor for refusing to submit to DUI testing; second-degree misdemeanor for failing to register his motor vehicle and second-degree misdemeanor for driving without a valid license.
Manning was arrested Nov. 9, 2025, in connection to a single-vehicle motorcycle accident in Holmes Beach.
A pair of Holmes Beach police officers located Manning, who was riding a motorcycle that matched a given description and conducted a traffic stop.
When the officers spoke to Manning, they found he displayed signs of intoxication and he lacked a driver’s license. Also, his motorcycle had not been registered for about 10 months.
The officers detained Manning and requested field sobriety tests, which Manning agreed to but failed to perform.
Manning was arrested and transported him to the Manatee County jail, where he failed to provide breath samples for testing.
He remained in jail until Gould’s Jan. 28 ruling, where he pleaded nolo contendere — or no contest — to the four misdemeanor charges.
Gould found Manning guilty of every charge and sentenced him to credit for time served.
His sentence also suspended his license for six months, requires he serve 12 months of probation and complete 50 hours of public service work.
Manning must also attend and complete DUI school and a victim impact panel within 11 months.
