Island police reports

Bradenton Beach
March 15, Drift Inn, 120 Bridge St., 1:07 a.m. theft. A Bradenton Beach police officer responded to a theft. According to the report, a bar patron allegedly stole an iPhone 13 belonging to an employee after it was left unattended on the counter. Surveillance footage showed an unknown person take the phone and leave the establishment. The person later returned and made a purchase using a credit card. The phone could not be tracked. The Bradenton Beach Police Department is investigating.

Holmes Beach
March 18, 600 block of Key Royale Drive, stolen property. An officer responded to a call and met with a property owner who said an Adirondack chair was missing from a boat dock.
March 19, 7200 block of Palm Drive, leaving the scene of crash involving property damage. An officer responded to reports of a hit-and-run traffic incident and found the crash location, but there were no vehicles. A suspect vehicle was located with the city’s license plate recognition system and an officer located the motorist in the 6800 block of Holmes Boulevard. A man was arrested and transported to Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton. The man was then transported to the Manatee County jail.
March 19, 500 block of Key Royale Drive, harassment. A resident entered the HBPD to report that she and her husband were receiving harassing letters. She said the anonymous letters complained about their dog barking in their backyard. An officer advised that a report would be completed and to contact the HBPD if there are further similar incidents.
March 20, 100 block of 52nd Street, underage alcohol possession. The HBPD chief found a group of what appeared to be underage people drinking alcohol. Two officers removed the group from the beach, issued citations and contacted their parents for pickup.
March 22, West Wind Shores, 101 67th St., trespass. Multiple officers responded to reports of a trespasser and found a couple in a spa. One of them told police that they were not staying at the resort.
