      Feb. 2, 100 block of Hammock Road, burglary. A Manatee County sheriff’s deputy responded to a burglary report involving the theft of more than $600 from a residence. An incident report was filed.

Holmes Beach

Jan. 31, Shell, 5424 Marina Drive, alcohol. An officer saw a woman drinking from a handheld boxed wine in the gas station parking lot. She hid the wine, drove away and parked at a restaurant when the officer approached. The officer followed her to the lot, where she admitted to drinking the wine. The officer issued court summons. The woman agreed to give her car keys to a family member who works at the restaurant.

Feb. 1, city field, 5900 Flotilla Drive, battery/city ordinance violations. A man entered the Holmes Beach Police Department to report that he was walking his dog when he saw a resident driving a golf cart while walking two large dogs without leashes. He said he commented on the dogs, at which point the other man pushed him and he struck back. An officer found the other man at his residence, where he confirmed he was involved in the incident. He said the complainant had yelled at him, so he grabbed him by the shirt, at which point he was struck. The officer was requesting city surveillance footage of city field to investigate the alleged violations of operating a golf cart on the field and allowing dogs to walk without leashes.

Feb. 2, 500 block of 67th Street, fraud. A man entered the HBPD to report that he was the victim of an online scam, in which he believed he had paid a $11,600 down payment for a motor home. He said he wired the money to an LLC but became suspicious due to delays with the supposed delivery. The man filed a report with his bank and provided the claim number for police.

Feb. 3, 2900 block of Avenue C, fraud. An officer met with a woman who said she had paid $700 for a barrier system, but when she called the company was closed for the holidays. She called after the holidays and the phone number was no longer in service. The officer provided a case number.
