Marion (Fagan) Hintonobit-Marion-Hinton

Marion (Fagan) Hinton, 89, of Bath, Ontario, Canada, and Holmes Beach, died Jan. 23.

Between summers at Long Lake and winters in Anna Maria at Westbay Point and Moorings from 1980 to 2010 , Mrs. Hinton made many wonderful lifelong friends.

A service was held Jan. 26 in Ontario. Wartman Funeral Home of Kingston, Ontario, was in charge of arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to Lennox & Addington County General Hospital Foundation, 8 Richmond Park Drive, Napanee ON K7R 2Z4, Canada.

Mrs. Hinton is survived by her children, Diane, David and wife Michelle, Jim and wife Sandra, and John and wife Carol; grandchildren Christopher and wife Erin Johnstone, Stephen, Zach, Alyssa, Mitchell, Michael and Blaire.

Edward A. McIntyre, 82, of Holmes Beach, died Jan. 23. He was born on Aug. 2, 1931, in Butler, Pa., to Edward and Helen McIntyre.

Mr. McIntyre was general superintendent for Paver Construction of Sarasota. He was a Christian and a Knights Templar 32nd degree Mason with F&AM Lodge of Sarasota.

He loved history and enjoyed working with his hands, especially woodworking and cabinetmaking.

A celebration of life and memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at CrossPointe Fellowship, 8605 Gulf Drive, Holmes Beach. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 3355 26th St. W., Bradenton FL 34205. Online condolences may be made at

Mr. McIntyre is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Irene Flinn; sons Curtis E. and wife Vicki of Celebration, Fla., Milton G. and wife Delynn Flinn of Estero, Fla., Douglas J. Flinn and wife Penni of Louisville, and Michael C. Flinn and wife Shirley of Ruskin, Fla; daughters: Michele and husband Todd Engle of Lake Mary, Fla., Sandra J. and husband Frank Klim of St. Petersburg, and Kathleen and husband Mike Klozar of Holmes Beach; sister Sandy Ellis of Cleveland, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a niece and nephew.


Wyan ‘Huey’ Milks

Wyan ‘Huey’ Milks, 77, of Newnan, Ga., and formerly of Anna Maria Island, died Jan. 21. He was born Nov. 9, 1936, in Owosso, Mich.

Mr. Milks served 1955-61as an airman third class in the U.S. Air Force. He moved to Anna Maria Island in the early 1970s, where he served as chief of the Bradenton Beach Fire Department. He took up masonry and became a skilled tradesman. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 2188 in Bradenton Beach. He was an officer of the lodge for many years and, in 2004, he was named Moose of the Year.

A spent his last years living life to the fullest and spoiling his grandchildren. He will never be forgotten by the many that had the privilege of knowing him.

A memorial services at the Moose Lodge in Bradenton Beach will be planned at a later date.

Mr. Milks is survived by his children, Douglas and wife Donna, Jaimee and husband Jeremy Nosworthy, Brad and wife Sasha, and Brett; grandchildren Jonathan, Kyle, Ashley, Kory, Mathew, Jason and Jaxon; and three great-grandchildren.
