An episode of Florida Travel + Life’s Affordable Luxury magazine featuring Anna Maria Island will air on Discovery Channel Feb. 12.
The episode will explore activities, ambiances and the culture found on Anna Maria Island and Longboat Key and at Lakewood Ranch. The program will air at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, a press release from the Bradenton Area Convention and Visitors Bureau said.
“The island culture on Florida’s Gulf coast is irresistible. It’s truly a slice of paradise” and a “unique destination offering cultural experiences, fabulous dining, shopping museums and more,” said the magazine’s senior editor, Susan Friedman.
“Trust me, once you’ve seen the show, you’ll be eager to experience this island culture for yourself,” she promised.
The show will air on different dates on the Discovery HD Theater, the Sun Sports Channel and R&R TV, and persons interested in viewing should check local cable listings for specific airdates and times, BACVB marketing director Deb Meihls said.

Meihls said filming of the program was arranged through the efforts of the BACVB, which purchased time from Discovery to air the episode across North America.
