Colline C. Bark
Colline C. Bark, 84, died Feb. 1. She was born May 16, 1926, in Wilmington, N.C.
She attended East Carolina Teachers College and Michigan State University, and resided in Midland, Mich., before moving to Lakeland in 1956.
Mrs. Bark devoted her life to her family and community charities. Over the past 40 years, she served at Lakeland General Hospital, the Lakeland Jaycee-ettes, Santa Fe Catholic High School Library, St. Vincent de Paul and St. Francis Thrift Bow-tique. She was a longtime member of the Rambling Rose Garden Circle, enjoyed bridge, baking for her family and sewing with friends.
A memorial mass was celebrated Feb. 4 by the Rev. John Caulfield at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lakeland. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Academy, 310 McDonald St., Lakeland FL 33803.
Mrs. Bark is survived by her husband of 63 years, Douglas E., their sons David of Lakeland and Steven of Anna Maria Island; daughter Katherine of Jacksonville; sister-in-law Jacqueline of South Bend, Ind.; first cousins Martha King of Jacksonville, Ann Carolyn Standerwick of Bellevue, Neb.; James Makepeace of Sanford, N.C., and L.D. Marshburn Jr. of Wilmington, N.C.
Wilma Sue Bobalko
Wilma Sue Bobalko, 79, died Jan. 28. She moved to Anna Maria in 1987 from Atlanta with her family.
She was born in Detroit, but lived in several other places, including Illinois and Georgia, before settling in Anna Maria.
She founded the Wheeling Library Board in Illinois and gave the community a library with her efforts. She was an integral part of the N.W. Community Mental Health organization and helped raise funds for multiple health foundations. Mrs. Bobalko retired as vice president of relocation from Merrill Lynch not too long after moving to the Island.
She was an avid golfer and online poker player. She also loved to travel.
The family will host a celebration of life Feb. 12 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Rotten Ralph’s Restaurant in Anna Maria. Catherine Adams Danziger
Catherine Adams Danziger, 79, of Holmes Beach, died Jan. 31. She was born Feb. 17, 1931, and raised in North Creek, N.Y. She was known as Pat to family and friends.
Mrs. Danziger was married to the late Dr. Arthur Edward Danziger 50 years. Her passion was volunteer work at Mote Marine Laboratories in Sarasota since 2005. Her hobbies were world travel and working in her garden.
Service will be private at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Mote Marine, 1600 Ken Thompson Parkway, Sarasota.
Mrs. Danziger is survived by three sons, Lawrence of West Islip, N.Y.; Stephen of Palmetto, Kenneth of Fort Myers; and their families.
Mary E. Menendez
Mary E. Menendez, 84, of Holmes Beach, formerly of Brandon, died Jan. 31.
A memorial Mass was held Feb. 4 at Ss Peter & Paul the Apostles Catholic Church Chapel in Bradenton. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, Bradenton, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Menendez is survived by sons Bradd A. of Tampa, and Douglas D. of Naples; sisters Lethia Hall of Holmes Beach and Gayle Miller of Houston; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Sean Patrick Quinn
Sean Patrick Quinn, 44, died Jan. 29.
