John Rigney has resigned as a commissioner for the West Manatee Fire Rescue District because he has moved out of the district.
The commission is accepting applications to fill the vacancy until the end of Rigney’s term in 2012.
Rigney had served on the board since 2002, WMFR Chief Andy Price said.
Anyone interested in serving on the board can obtain an application at the WMFR administrative office at 6477 Third Ave. W., Bradenton.
Current commissioners will elect a replacement from the list of qualified applicants. Applicants must reside in the WMFR district to be eligible.
